Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. By using our website, making a reservation, placing an order or dining with us, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
01 About us
This website and the Vembanad Restaurant & Lounge are operated by [Registered Company Name] Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number [Company Number], with its registered office at [Registered Address] (“Vembanad”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
02 Using our website
You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes only. When using it, you agree not to:
- use the website in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its server or any connected system;
- introduce viruses or other malicious material; or
- copy, scrape or reproduce content from the website for commercial purposes without our written permission.
We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Menus, photographs and descriptions are for illustration and may differ from dishes served on the day.
03 Reservations
- Reservations can be made online, by phone or in person and are subject to availability.
- A reservation is confirmed only once you receive a confirmation from us by email or SMS.
- Please provide accurate contact details so we can reach you about your booking.
- Tables are held for 15 minutes after the reserved time. After this, we may release the table to other guests.
- At busy times, tables may be allocated for a set dining period, which we will tell you about when you book.
- We will always try to accommodate seating requests, but cannot guarantee a specific table or area.
04 Cancellations & no-shows
If your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your table to other guests.
- Please cancel or amend a standard booking at least 24 hours before your reservation time.
- Where a deposit or card guarantee has been taken, cancellations made with less than the stated notice, or failure to attend, may result in the deposit being retained or a charge being made, as explained at the time of booking.
- If we need to cancel your booking for reasons beyond our control, we will contact you as early as possible and refund any deposit in full.
05 Group bookings & private events
We love hosting celebrations, family gatherings and group dinners. For groups of 8 or more guests:
- we may ask for a deposit and a pre-order from a set menu;
- final guest numbers should be confirmed at least 48 hours in advance, and you may be charged for guests confirmed but not attending; and
- a discretionary service charge may be added to the bill, which will be shown clearly.
Private hire and larger events are subject to a separate event agreement, which will take priority over these terms where they differ.
06 Online orders & takeaway
- Orders placed online are an offer to buy. Your order is accepted only when we confirm it.
- Collection and delivery times are estimates and may vary at busy periods.
- Orders placed through third-party delivery platforms are also subject to that platform’s own terms, and refunds for those orders are handled through the platform.
- Because our food is freshly prepared and perishable, you cannot cancel an order once preparation has started. This does not affect your statutory rights.
- If something is wrong with your order, please contact us promptly and we will do our best to put it right.
07 Prices & payment
- All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT at the current rate.
- Prices and menu items may change without notice. The price charged will be the price shown on the menu at the time of ordering.
- A discretionary service charge may be added for some bookings. It is entirely optional, and all tips and service charges are passed on to our team in full.
- We accept major debit and credit cards and contactless payments. We may also accept cash.
08 Allergens & dietary requirements
Many of our dishes contain nuts, dairy, gluten, mustard, sesame, crustaceans, fish, coconut and other allergens. Full allergen information for the 14 major allergens is available on request.
- Please tell us about any allergy or intolerance when you book and again when you order.
- Although we take great care, our kitchen handles all 14 allergens and we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from traces of them.
- Dishes marked as vegetarian or vegan are prepared without meat or animal products but may be cooked in the same kitchen as dishes that contain them.
09 Alcohol & age restrictions
We operate a Challenge 25 policy. Alcohol will only be served to guests aged 18 or over, and we may ask for valid photo ID. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who appears intoxicated or cannot show ID when asked. Children are welcome, but must be supervised by an adult at all times.
10 Guest conduct & right of admission
We want everyone to enjoy a warm, relaxed experience. We reserve the right to refuse admission or ask guests to leave where their behaviour is abusive, threatening, disruptive or unsafe towards other guests or our team. Guests are responsible for any damage they cause to our property.
11 Gift vouchers
- Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless stated otherwise.
- Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, and no change is given for unused balances unless stated.
- Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced. Vouchers cannot be used for third-party delivery orders.
12 Intellectual property
All content on this website, including the Vembanad name and logo, text, photographs, illustrations and design, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not copy, reproduce or use it without our prior written consent.
13 Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to this, we are not liable for any indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for loss of or damage to personal belongings brought onto our premises, unless caused by our negligence. We are not responsible for the content of any external websites linked from our website.
14 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated. The terms in force at the time you make a booking or place an order will apply to it.
15 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
